My house is 63 years old, as is the plumbing. Some of the joints did not look too good, so I called John the Plumber to take a look and advise me. They sent Garrett who called ahead and arrived when he said he would. He was very courteous, very pleasant personality and very professional. He advised me that the joints seemed ok and should be fine, but there was no way he could guarantee that they would not leak say 1, 3, 6, 12 etc months down the road, due to the age.
