ProScore (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website proscore.ca (“the Platform”). ProScore is a contractor intelligence platform serving Ontario, Canada. Our registered business address is Barrie, Ontario. For privacy inquiries, contact us at privacy@proscore.ca.
2. Information We Collect
We collect different categories of personal information depending on how you interact with the Platform:
a) Homeowners & Visitors
- Quote request information: name, phone number, email address (optional), project description, and timeline.
- Reviews: name, email address, and review content you choose to submit.
- Usage data: pages visited, search queries, IP address, browser type, and device information collected automatically via cookies and server logs.
b) Contractors
- Account information: business email address, password (hashed), and verification codes.
- Business profile data: business name, address, phone number, website, service areas, operating hours, photos, certifications, and insurance documents you provide.
- Billing information: processed securely by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers.
c) Public Data Sources
- We aggregate publicly available business information from 15+ verified sources including Google Reviews, Better Business Bureau, government licensing databases (ESA, TSSA, WSIB, HCRA, Skilled Trades Ontario), and additional major review platforms to generate ProScore trust scores.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the Platform, including generating trust scores and connecting homeowners with contractors.
- To send quote requests to contractors on behalf of homeowners.
- To process subscription payments and manage contractor accounts.
- To send transactional emails: verification codes, welcome emails, lead notifications, billing confirmations, and renewal reminders.
- To send review solicitation emails to homeowners who submitted quote requests (one-time only).
- To improve the Platform through analytics and usage patterns.
- To detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We share personal information with the following service providers, strictly for the purposes described:
- Stripe (stripe.com) — Payment processing. Stripe receives billing information directly and is PCI-DSS compliant.
- Resend (resend.com) — Transactional email delivery. Receives recipient email addresses and email content.
- Supabase (supabase.com) — Database hosting and authentication. Stores account data in secured PostgreSQL databases.
- Vercel (vercel.com) — Website hosting. May process IP addresses and request metadata via server logs.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
5. Cookies & Tracking
The Platform uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We use server-side analytics to track page views and user interactions (profile views, search clicks, quote requests) for the purpose of providing contractors with performance data. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or sell data to ad networks.
6. Data Retention
- Homeowner quote requests: retained for 2 years, then anonymized.
- Contractor accounts: retained while the account is active. Deleted upon request after account closure.
- Reviews: retained indefinitely as public content unless removal is requested and approved.
- Analytics data: aggregated and anonymized after 12 months.
- Public business data: updated periodically from public sources. Contractors may request corrections.
7. Your Rights Under PIPEDA
Under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
- Withdraw consent for the collection, use, or disclosure of your personal information (subject to legal or contractual restrictions).
- Request deletion of your personal information.
- File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you believe your privacy rights have been violated.

8. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted connections (TLS/SSL), hashed passwords, role-based access controls, and secure third-party providers. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children’s Privacy
The Platform is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child, we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
